Community:You dont need sneakymove
From Splunk Wiki
Splunk 4.x does not require the use of the sneaky move script (aka - smv). If you previously configured sneaky move for moving buckets between separate filesystems, you must disable this when migrating to 4.x.
Splunk now uses a different method to move buckets between indexes and you should therefore disable/remove sneaky move when migrating from 3.x to 4.x.
If you are starting from a fresh install of 4.x, you do not need to consider the usage of sneaky move.
